28 January 2005 - Medima has a new logo
Medima Solutions b.v. has a new logo. Read here the history of this logo
At the very beginning of our activities we realized that it was important for our image to have a good logo. After a few days brainstorming we started with the following proposals.

logo-1

The first logo was an idea of Casper, the second logo came from Gerrit.

Both the logos had something attractive for everyone in the company but none of them was really it. From the first one we liked the fact that it was emphasizing the distinction between the two parts of our name: MEDical IMAging; the second one was more interesting for the presence of the red dot above the i.
Since we were not really satisfied we looked around between our acquaintances to see if anyone could help us finding new ideas.

Soon we contacted Mr. Willem Versteeg, who worked years for the European Space Agency in the Publications Division and he came up with several ideas. The first idea was using a CD rom in our logo.

The name MEDIMA would have also be mirrored, to remember a little bit that we are doing something with Imaging.

We were impressed by the idea behind this logo but not yet satisfied. Mr Versteeg listened to our ideas and comments and made up other alternatives:

We were again not satisfied and we wanted to try to see what the logo would have looked like by changing the colours.

Another idea was the following version:

Since we were actually ending in a loop we tried again to look for some help externally. We were lucky to get advice from Mr. Pierangelo Federici, that has many year experience in the advertising world and is now copywriter for Italiana di Comunicazione.

We sent him the last blue logo. He thought the idea of the mirroring was really good, but that the logo needed to be more professional and he came out with the following suggestion together with Mrs. Federica Paludetto, art director for Italiana di Comunicazione.

We were immediately really enthousiast about the logo: without him knowing about our first two designs, he somehow repeated some of our original ideas. He separated the two parts of the logo med and ima and he added something crazy with the red dot on the i.
