1 April 2010 - PacsPrinter 2.0 released

Medima Solutions, a leader in solutions towards the paperless healthcare enterprise, announces the worldwide release of PacsPrinterâ„¢ Version 2.0.

PacsPrinter Version 2.0 offers an expanded set of capabilities building on the successful global market installation base achieved by the original version of PacsPrinter, first introduced in 2005.

The leading edge features of Version 2.0 build on significant technical advancements from the Healthcare IT marketplace and incorporate extensive feedback from a wide range of experienced Medima users, country distributors, and global OEMs. Version 2.0 now offers the capability to store documents in encapsulated PDF DICOM format in the PACS archive, linked to specific patient studies. Encapsulated PDF files save significant storage space when compared with the traditional Secondary Capture format.

Traditional users routinely utilize PacsPrinter to scan physician notes, orders and insurance cards for attachment to the Dicom files in the PACS archive. Secondary Capture files can easily average 5 MB as compared with a comparable encapsulated PDF file that average 31KB, a significant decrease that adds up rapidly in an active medical practice.

Version 2.0 also significantly improves the workflow of Radiologists, technologists and administrative staff, by enabling direct access to both documents and images, saving time in accessing patient information.
