|
Medima Solutions, a leader in solutions towards the paperless healthcare enterprise, announces the worldwide release of PacsFiler.
PacsFiler offers the capability to store PDF documents in encapsulated PDF DICOM format in the PACS archive, linked to specific patient studies. PacsFiler, designed with significant input from leading edge Radiology departments and users, offers a continuing roadmap towards the paperless healthcare environment, while improving productivity and access to patient healthcare records.
PacsFiler is the latest product from Medima as it builds on the successful global market installation base achieved by PacsPrinter, first introduced in 2005. The leading edge features of PacsFiler build on significant technical advancements from the Healthcare IT marketplace and incorporate extensive feedback from a wide range of experienced Medima users, country distributors, and global OEMs.
Medima designed PacsFiler based on a clear understanding that PACS systems users are demanding the capability to store PDF documents related to patient studies within the PACS and directly linked to the patient study. The simplest and most efffective means to accomplish this are incorporated in the newly released PacsFiler product while focusing on the workflow of Radiologists, technologists and administrative staff. By enabling direct access to both documents and images, saving time in accessing patient information, Medima continues to develop solutions to advance better care through paperless operations.

19 january 2011 - PacsScanner 3.0 launched |
|
Medima is pleased to announce that Radiology and Imaging Centers may now order the newly released PacScanner 3.0 to improve productivity and reduce paperwork. Existing customers around the world already save time and money by scanning printed patient and medical care information into the PACS system to be permanently associated with an imaging study archived into the PACS system. Version 3.0 extends the functionality of the program to provide more productivity to higher volume sites and multisite institutions.
PacsScanner works with all PACS vendors/systems, and can be purchased or downloaded directly from Medima. It requires a Windows PC system and a scanner, which can also be from any manufacturer.
Users commonly report the routine scanning of insurance cards, reports, clinical notes, orders and other medical/patient data, and then store this data in the PACS. All of this paper can then be eliminated from the files and found immediately if needed in the future. Some new users have reported they previously used film scanners to do this, but found this a long and difficult effort to accomplish.

|
Medima Solutions, a leader in solutions towards the paperless healthcare enterprise, announces the worldwide release of PacsPrinter™ Version 2.0.
PacsPrinter Version 2.0 offers an expanded set of capabilities building on the successful global market installation base achieved by the original version of PacsPrinter, first introduced in 2005.
The leading edge features of Version 2.0 build on significant technical advancements from the Healthcare IT marketplace and incorporate extensive feedback from a wide range of experienced Medima users, country distributors, and global OEMs. Version 2.0 now offers the capability to store documents in encapsulated PDF DICOM format in the PACS archive, linked to specific patient studies. Encapsulated PDF files save significant storage space when compared with the traditional Secondary Capture format.
Traditional users routinely utilize PacsPrinter to scan physician notes, orders and insurance cards for attachment to the Dicom files in the PACS archive. Secondary Capture files can easily average 5 MB as compared with a comparable encapsulated PDF file that average 31KB, a significant decrease that adds up rapidly in an active medical practice.
